SWF uploading isn't enabled by default, but Gochan can be configured to accept more than the default video and image formats, assigning them to specific thumbnails by extension (example).
It also has a plugin system, so you can create/use plugins to generate thumbnails dynamically (example)

I was interested in building something similar, so this is really cool.
However, I wanted to reduce dependencies and config as much as possible, no SQL database or anything else, just run it and it works.
Maybe BuntDB would work for a database.
Will definitely peruse the code, though, to get an idea how it all fits together.
Anyway, nice work!

In developing gochan, I've generally tried to avoid adding new dependencies unless I have reason to believe that people will find them useful enough to justify the potential increase in complexity.
I realize that there are some imageboards created with NoSQL databases (or at least one with MongoDB), but Go had a SQL package in its standard library, and the board -> thread -> post -> upload(s) model works well in a relational database

Rust with the sled db is like a flatfile- but the sled db is MADE with rust, for rust. And Rust is more performant than go.

this board has potential to be a place where one could comfy post.
have a look at the requirements to post on 4ch which have been activated.

While the board was intended as a demonstration of gochan as a software, I don't really have a problem with comfyposting (I don't know why anyone would take issue with that).
